Mason Development
DESIGN APPROACH
The Mason Development includes an ecologically constrained site where a part of the site is occupied by a group of protected trees. The site plan was then developed by creating a communal space to accommodate the protected trees and a dedicated communal rain garden area has been designed too. The housing layout then followed around these communal assets.
The house design includes primarily terrace housing with various architectural forms and styles. Different building materials have been proposed to create variety in visual appearance of different building blocks. Before finalising the final design a number of different alternative site plans and house designs have been explored to undertake an extensive pre application discussion with the relevant Council officers including urban designer, planner, ecologist and storm water engineer.
