Hobsonville Point Housing
DESIGN APPROACH
The overall Hobsonville Point development is a very well organised master-planned development. Based on the overall roading and block layout, the land developer sold different supersets to different housing developers for different types of primarily medium to high-density housing.
Abu Hoque was involved with a number of these super lot housing developments when he was working for Harrison Grierson. At that time, he was the lead urban designer, house designer, and project manager for several different housing companies to undertake their super lot housing projects in various precincts of the master-planned area.
The project tasks included preparing necessary urban design and housing design principles and architectural designs under the Hobsonville Point Design Guidelines and then presenting designs to the Design Review Panel and obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals. Some of these house designs were specifically done as affordable products for the first home buyers.
